Haglund’s deformity (also known as Haglund's syndrome) is a painful bump on back of the heel that occurs when both the Achilles tendon and bursa sac on the heel are injured and inflamed. It is commonly called a "pump bump," because wearing high heels or pumps over time can cause this condition.
