Carlos Guillen undergoes knee surgery should be ready for 2011

The Detroit News—September 10, 2010

Carlos Guillen's season officially ended Friday when the Tigers announced he would have "diagnostic" knee surgery next Friday.

Guillen, who moved to second base earlier this season, has not played since Aug. 17 because of a deep contusion on his left knee.

He was examined this week at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where Dr. Russ Warren recommended the procedure.
