Bring on the rehab: Krejci’s hip surgery successful

New England Sports Network—June 5, 2009

Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced on Thursday that 23-year-old center David Krejci’s hip surgery was successful. It was performed by Dr. Bryan T. Kelly at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Though Krejci will miss four to six months while he recovers - which jeopardizes his chances of playing in the Bruins’ 2009-10 season opener - Chiarelli isn’t worried. He’s seen enough from Krejci to know that the young star’s rehabilitation efforts will be nothing short of diligent.

Injuries aren’t custom for Krejci: This year, he was one of three Bruins to play in all 82 regular season games, plus all 11 postseason games.
