Yankees approve personal trainer for Rodriguez before he undergoes hip surgery

NYDailyNews.com—December 22, 2012

Cashman announced the presurgery rehab schedule during the winter meetings earlier this month, after the Yankees confirmed A-Rod’s planned January surgical procedure, but Rodriguez’s trainer had to be vetted before the rehab work began, according to Cashman. The physical therapist is part of Dr. Bryan Kelly’s staff, and Kelly will perform the hip surgery on Rodriguez next month.

“The physical therapist flies down to Miami and works with Alex’s personal trainer,” Cashman told the Daily News. “His personal trainer was vetted. We feel like Alex has the best doctors and care possible leading up to the surgery.”
