The service is staffed by highly skilled professionals, who are knowledgeable about the capabilities of the hospital and all the physicians in the program.
When you call our service, HSSConnect representatives will ask for vital information – patient’s ailment, demographics and insurance to identify the appropriate physician for you. No caller is ever put on hold and unanswered calls are sent directly to voicemail and returned within one business day.

Hospital for Special Surgery (the “Hospital”) operates a physician referral service to assist patients in selecting physicians who are active members of the Hospital’s medical staff. Physicians do not pay a fee to be included in our referral service. The referral service determines the physician to whom it makes a referral based on the physician’s specialty, the patient’s need, the patient’s insurance, and, where available, physician schedules. If a physician is no longer active on the medical staff of the Hospital, the Hospital will not include the physician in our referral service.
