HSS Journal®

Published since 2005, HSS Journal: The Musculoskeletal Journal of Hospital for Special Surgery is a peer-reviewed journal published by SAGE beginning in 2021. Submissions are welcome from clinicians around the world. The journal features original research, review articles, and case reports on musculoskeletal conditions, their diagnosis, and their treatment. Articles from professionals in fields relevant to musculoskeletal health are encouraged: orthopedics, anesthesia, perioperative medicine, bone and mineral medicine, radiology and imaging, clinical pathology, rheumatology, telehealth, robotics, musculoskeletal nursing, neurology, physiatry, and rehabilitation.

In 2021, the journal was accepted into Science Citation Index Expanded and indexed in Web of Science; the current impact factor is 2.5. The journal is ranked 36/86 among orthopedics journals and 80/212 among surgery journals. This represents significant growth since its introduction in 2005.

Beginning in June 2023, the journal will reach a new audience: SAGE Publishing, United Family Healthcare (UFH), and HSS have agreed to translate the HSS Journal into Chinese and it will be distributed in China. Each issue will include 5 articles and 6 abstracts. The Chinese translations will be published both online and in print and will include introductions written by the Chinese editor. A Chinese editorial board will also be formed. The 2-year agreement will allow for 4 translated issues.
