Bronx, New York—November 8, 2013
Affinity Health Plan, a leading managed care organization serving more than 265,000 members in the New York metro area, announced that it recently broadened its contractual arrangement with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). The previous agreement covered Affinity's Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and Family Health Plus members. The new agreement allows Affinity's Health Exchange Plan members (Affinity Essential) to access all of HSS services.
Affinity is excited about its growing relationship with the hospital. "Affinity Health Plan and Hospital for Special Surgery have enjoyed a wonderful partnership over the years," said Glenn MacFarlane, Affinity Senior Vice President, Strategy, Business & Product Development. "In addition to providing outstanding care to our Medicaid members, they will now also service our Qualified Health Plan line of business (Affinity Essential)."
Hospital for Special Surgery also anticipates positive results from their relationship with Affinity. "We are proud to be partnering with Affinity in providing their members with access to the highest quality orthopedic care," said Stacey Malakoff, Chief Financial Officer, Hospital for Special Surgery. "Our expertise in diagnosis, prevention and treatment will be valuable in getting their members and their families back to an active life, skillfully and safely."
