US: High schools tackle baseball injuries

With the number of elbow injuries in teenage baseball pitchers rising, new state regulations in New Jersey now limit number of pitches a high school player can throw in a game.

Al Jazeera interviews HSS sports medicine surgeon David W. Altchek, MD, on the rising number of elbow injuries and Tommy John surgeries in baseball. "Now every parent and every coach has a little mini radar gun, and it's all about velocity."

Dr. Altchek explains how Tommy John surgery is "recreating the ligament" to fix the ligament tear.
