The last time anyone saw Mike Reilly, the Edmonton Eskimos quarterback joked that a leg replacement from the hip down would be OK by him.
Just over two months later, Reilly’s body is on the road to matching his still-good spirits.
“As you can see, I’m walking normal. I’ve got a very uncomfortable shoe on with no padding in it,” Reilly said late on Tuesday night while seated in the alumni lounge at Commonwealth Stadium.
“I’m definitely happy with (the recovery),” he said. “This is the second time I’ve been back to Edmonton since the season ended.”
He went to New York City where his fiancée, Emily, worked (the couple has since moved to Seattle) and through Eskimos team physician Dr. Dhiren Naidu, was able to rehab with Dr. John Cavanaugh at Hospital for Special Surgery.
