Hospital for Special Surgery Releases Statement Regarding Dr. Mark Drakos

NEW YORK—December 9, 2008

Hospital for Special Surgery is aware that its sports medicine fellow, Mark Drakos, M.D., met yesterday with the District Attorney. Dr. Drakos was asked to meet with the District Attorney as a witness in their investigation.

Dr. Drakos’ actions were entirely appropriate in this matter and he is not a subject of the District Attorney’s investigation. Dr. Drakos and HSS will continue to cooperate fully with authorities.
