Dr. Matthew Roberts, a foot and ankle surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery, joins The Big Show on 1340 AM Mile High Sports in Denver, Colorado, to discuss Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning and his recent plantar fascia tear.
"A tear comes from trauma and it can happen from sprinting and when you're accelerating quickly," said Dr. Roberts. "Peyton is obviously in good shape so it probably happened with either acceleration or hyper extension of your toes can sometimes strain or tear the plantar fascia."
