Most of us want to look good and be healthy and there are plenty of workout programs to accomplish that. But at what point are we going overboard?
Dr. Josh Dines, a sports medicine specialist and orthopedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery, says people are throwing their backs out, pulling muscles, spraining ankles, and more. He sees one to two patients a week who get hurt exercising. Many push themselves too hard, he says.
Dines says you need to know your limits, exercise in moderation, work with someone to make sure your technique is correct, and listen to your body.
