Coundoul, Kandji undergo operations

Big Apple Soccer—November 12, 2009

Red Bulls goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul and forward Macoumba Kandji underwent successful surgeries this week, the MLS club announced Thursday.

Both players are expected to be ready for the MLS pre-season, which traditionally begins in late January.

Coundoul had a procedure performed on his left knee by Dr. Riley Williams at Hospital for Special Surgery Tuesday to remove a cyst and repair a small tear in his patella tendon.

His recovery time is expected to be from six to eight weeks.
