What Are the Types of Orthopedic Doctors?

U.S. News & World Report featured HSS pediatric orthopedic surgeon Daniel W. Green, MD, MS, FAAP, FACS in a slideshow that described the different types of orthopedic doctors. Dr. Green explained the meaning of the word 'orthopedic' and said "the word orthopedic itself is actually rooted in the care of children. 'Ortho' means straight and 'peds' means child. So the original term orthopedics means 'to make a child straight'."
