About Dr. Fetzer

Dr. April Fetzer is a double-board certified non-operative spine physician at HSS at NCH. Her expertise includes individualized diagnosis and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders with special training in nonsurgical care of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, shoulder, and hip joint. To complement her practice, she utilizes fluoroscopic guided spine injections, trigger point injections, joint and soft tissue injections of the upper and lower extremities, as well as electromyography/ nerve conduction studies. Dr. Fetzer is passionate about team-based collaboration to provide the highest quality care to her patients.

After earning her her medical degree at Des Moines University in Iowa, Dr. Fetzer went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where she served as chief resident. She subsequently completed her fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, specializing in Interventional Spine/Pain Medicine. There, she received advanced training in fluoroscopic guided spine injections and non-operative management of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. After fellowship, Dr. Fetzer served as an Interventional Physiatrist for Midwest Orthopedics at RUSH in Chicago for 15 years, where she enjoyed a thriving practice that included participating as a team physician for the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bulls, and the Joffrey Ballet.

Dr. Fetzer combines her expertise in rehabilitation, interventional spine treatment regimens, and pain medicine to comprehensively treat each patient. She excels in patient communication and strives to individually tailor each patient's plan of care to reach the common goal of pain relief and restoration of function.
