Patient Surgeon: S. Robert Rozbruch
Suzanne had a severe injury to her right leg in childhood that left her with a 2 inch discrepancy and valgus deformity.
She underwent a tibial lengthening using the TSF and the "LATN" (lengthening and then nailing) technique. The frame was used to lengthen and correct the deformity.
After the distraction phase, an intramedullary rod was inserted into the tibia and the external fixator was removed. This technique minimizes the amount of time in external fixation.
