Ron Vales, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Hospital for Special Surgery working with the Orthopedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction Service. He previously served as a Nurse Practitioner on the Foot and Ankle service for one year. Prior to that, he worked as CN1 on the 9th floor Ambulatory Surgery Center for five years. Prior to that he worked as a CN I on 7 East Inpatient unit at HSS for four years.
Ron obtained both his BSN and MSN from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. After receiving his MSN, he spent an additional year at Duke University to receive an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner Specialty Certificate. He is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) from the ANCC.
Ron enjoys spending time with his family including his wife and two children. In addition to this, he enjoys traveling, hiking, golfing, and cooking.
