Clinical Fellows
Christopher Jones, FAOrthA FRACS PhD MBBS(Hons) BEng(Hons) BCom, served as the Clinical Fellow in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Complex Joint Reconstruction Center in 2017-2018 and has returned to his native Australia where he is now Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Mount Hospital in Perth, and on the faculty of the Fiona Stanley Hospital Group & Orthopaedics and Curtin University in Western Australia and at the University of Sydney.

Ivan De Martino, MD, first joined the Center in 2016 as its inaugural Research Fellow and has served as a Clinical Fellow for the past academic year. The fellowship has enabled him to participate extensively in groundbreaking research and disseminate findings to the medical community. Dr. DeMartino will join the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy, as an Assistant Professor, following the conclusion of his Fellowship at HSS.

Alex Greenberg, MD joined the Stavros Niarchos Foundation CJRC as a Clinical Fellow in July 2019. Dr. Greenberg received his training at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical School and Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. He previously completed a year-long joint replacement fellowship at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Greenberg has returned to his native Israel where is an Orthopedic Surgeon at Hadassah Medical Center in Tel Aviv, Israel.
T. David Tarity, MD, joined the SNF CJRC as a Clinical Fellow in July of 2020.Dr. Tarity received his medical degree from The George Washington University in Washington, DC and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Pennsylvania. He is a Major in the United States Air Force, Medical Corps, serving since 2016 as an Attending Surgeon in the 81st Surgical Operations Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. Following the Fellowship, Dr. Tarity will join University of Pennsylvania Medical Center as an Assistant Professor.
Research Fellows
Michael-Alexander Malahias, MD, serves as the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Complex Joint Reconstruction Center’s Research Fellow. In his time at HSS, his investigations have focused on revision surgery for patients with acetabular bone loss (severe bone loss in the hip socket). Following his training here, he will continue as an Arthroplasty Clinical Fellow at the University of Toronto, St. Michael’s Hospital in Canada.
Ioannis Gkiatas, MD, PhD, joined the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Complex Joint Reconstruction Center in October 2019 as a Research Fellow. Dr. Gkiatas, a native of Greece, received his advanced degrees from the University of Ioannina Medical School. He completed his internship at the General Hospital of Filiates and his residency in orthopedics at the University Hospital of Ionnina. Dr. Gkiatas previously spent time at HSS as an Academic Visitor from April through May 2018). Following his training at HSS, he will continue as an Academic Associate at the University of Ioannina in Ioannina, Greece.
