Fox—April 11, 2017
HSS orthopedic trauma surgeon Gregory S. DiFelice, MD was featured on a broadcasted Fox segment, where he discussed a breakthrough in repairing a torn ACL.
"I try and save as much of the native tissue of the ACL as possible, and I only use reconstruction as a last resort. Not only does the procedure keep your native tissue, your knee feels more normal your recovery is faster, there is less complications," said Dr. DiFelice.
He stressed that he only uses this approach if the ACL is torn in a specific way.
The full segment originally appeared on Fox.com. This segment also aired on the April 5, 2017 broadcast of Fox 5 New York.
