In a recent article published by The Wall Street Journal, Jordan D. Metzl MD, a primary care sports medicine physician at Hospital for Special Surgery explains why strong glutes are important for both performance and injury prevention.
According to Dr. Metzl, "Glutes are the pelvic stabilizing muscles that keep the hips and pelvis in proper alignment during exercise. They are also the motor muscles that help generate power for push-off and sprinting maneuvers."
