Mets’ Juan Lagares, Who Gets Gold Glove, Hopes For Healthy 2015

Thursday, the 25-year-old center fielder showed off the hardware - or a replica of it - to students at PS 57 in East Harlem. He brought the replica trophy to gym class where he supervised throwing drills and participated in a Wiffle Ball game. Juan Lagares is the third outfielder in Mets history to win a Gold Glove.

Lagares was still limited Thursday following rehab of a sprained elbow that shut him down with 10 games left in the 2014 season. Earlier Thursday, he was checked out by team doctor David Altchek, but not yet cleared to throw or swing.

"I feel good," Lagares said of the elbow. "I hope in a week or two (to be cleared)."
