Times-Picayune—December 23, 2015
The New Orleans-based Times-Picayune reports that Drew Brees, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, experienced a sudden pain in his foot commonly associated with a plantar fascia injury.
"This is not an injury that happens overnight," said Rock G. Positano, DPM, MSc, MPH, director of the Non-surgical Foot and Ankle Service at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. "It will reach a certain threshold where the plantar fascia becomes very painful and very swollen. That's when the person feels that very bad pain."
