News 12 Connecticut covered a ribbon cutting ceremony for HSS Orthopedics at Stamford Health’s new inpatient surgical unit located on the entire 5th floor of Stamford Hospital. According to the segment, the 40,000 square foot unit features operating rooms and rehabilitation areas.

Charles N. Cornell, MD, chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Stamford Health, said the "operating rooms are of a design that's associated with the lowest infection rates possible".
