Orthopedic surgeons from HSS are now providing care at NCH. Through this new collaboration, NCH physicians can refer directly to HSS orthopedists. Patients will have the ability to manage their healthcare information anytime through the NCH patient portal.
Dr. Nicholas Clark is a board certified orthopedic spine surgeon at HSS at NCH. His expertise lies in the application of minimally invasive techniques to treat the full spectrum of degenerative spinal conditions involving the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He treats each patient as he would his own family and tries to avoid surgery whenever possible to get patients back to activities they enjoy. When surgery is required, Dr. Clark uses his training in minimally invasive spine techniques to provide cutting-edge care to provide the best outcome while minimizing pain.
Dr. Clark graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He subsequently completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Mayo Clinic followed by a fellowship in Spine Surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He is currently a member of the North American Spine Society, Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters and his work has been presented at national and international spine society meetings.
His clinical and research interests focus on the application of new and enabling technologies for minimally invasive spine surgery – including navigated and robotic-assisted spine surgery – as well as implementing techniques to improve the safety and effectiveness of spine surgery in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. He is interested in continuing to advance the practice of minimally invasive spine surgery to help speed recovery, and to increase outpatient/same day discharge spine surgery.
