Dr. George Cyril is an Attending Physiatrist at Hospital for Special Surgery in the Department of Physiatry. When managing a patient with spine or joint pain, Dr. Cyril believes in a holistic approach regardless of the medical condition. After attaining an accurate diagnosis, he pursues treatments to assist in the natural healing and recovery process for one's spine or joint problem. This may involve giving the body time and rest, lifestyle modifications for daily activity and exercise, guidance through a physical rehabilitation course, or more aggressive interventions like injection therapies or surgery referrals.
Dr. Cyril grew up in Santa Barbara, California and attained his medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then went on to complete a surgery internship at Harbor-UCLA Hospital before completing a residency in physiatry at University of Pennsylvania (HUP). Dr.Cyril continued his training with a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at HSS. After training, Dr. Cyril started his medical practice in the Beverly Hills and Marina del Rey (Silicon Beach) communities of Southern California. As a solo-practitioner, Dr. Cyril grew a successful medical practice. He worked with many of the top physicians and hospitals in the Los Angeles area, treating individuals from the entertainment industry, sports teams, and city workers alike. He primarily held affiliation with the DISC Sports and Spine Center and Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Cyril served as Medical Director for physiatry at Southern California Hospital and Chairman for the Pain Management Team at the Cedars-Sinai: Marina del Rey Hospital location.
