Dr. Richard Kijowski is a board certified radiologist at HSS specializing in magnetic resonance imaging as well as spine and sports imaging. He received his medical degree from Loyola Chicago Stritch School of Medicine followed by four years in orthopedic surgery residency before deciding to become a radiologist. After performing his diagnostic radiology residency at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan he received an additional one year of musculoskeletal imaging fellowship training at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Before coming to HSS, Dr. Kijowski spent 17 years practicing as a musculoskeletal radiologist at University of Wisconsin in Madsion and four years practicing at New York University Langone Medical Center in New York, New York.
Dr. Kijowski's research interests include deep learning applications in medical imaging, accelerated magnetic resonance imaging, clinical validation of new imaging technology, and use of morphologic and quantitative magnetic resonance imaging for evaluating acute joint injury, osteoarthritis, and other musculoskeletal diseases.
