About Dr. Mascarinas

 

Dr. Angelie Mascarinas is a board certified Physiatrist with fellowship training in interventional spine and musculoskeletal care. She specializes in the nonsurgical diagnosis and management of both spine and musculoskeletal injuries including the neck, low back, hips, shoulders, and knees. Her focus is on a conservative approach through the use of guided physical therapy programs and selective injections with fluoroscopic guidance or ultrasound guidance as necessary. She is passionate about collaborative care with each patient to help maximize function, reduce pain, and promote an active, healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Mascarinas graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and induction into the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society from New Jersey Institute of Technology. She completed her medical degree at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where she was inducted into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham and Women's Hospital.

During her fellowship in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at HSS in New York, she received advanced training in spinal fluoroscopic-guided injections and ultrasound-guided injections of peripheral joints, tendons, and bursae. She also received training in the non-operative management of hip disorders like femoroacetabular impingement and hip dysplasia through her rotations at the Hip Preservation Center at HSS. After fellowship, Dr. Mascarinas served as a staff physician in the Center for Spine Health at Cleveland Clinic Florida.
