About Dr. Werns

Dr. Steven W. Werns is an attending physician and the Director of Cardiology at HSS. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is a distinguished graduate of Cornell University and Cornell University Medical College. After completing his internal medicine residency at New York Hospital, Dr. Werns went on to complete his cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Werns has served on the faculties of the University of Michigan Medical School, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Wayne State University School of Medicine. He currently holds a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College.
