Mary Kopcik is a New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She has a passion for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating feeding and swallowing disorders. Mary is certified in administering and interpreting Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) to evaluate and diagnose dysphagia and is a Certified SOFFI Professional (Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infant). Mary is trained in PROMPTS for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) level 1 and Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC). She has additional clinical training in expressive/receptive language, social pragmatic, and oral motor therapy approaches. She has a clinical background in the hospital acute care setting, working with patients who experienced trauma, stroke, and cancer. She also has experience at a specialized school, working with a variety of children including those with speech and language disorders, Autism, and Apraxia of Speech. In her personal time, Mary enjoys trying new restaurants, making homemade pasta, and bringing her dog to the park.
