HSS Sarcoidosis Collaborative

The mission of the HSS Sarcoidosis Collaborative is to provide up-to-date, innovative, patient-centered care and service to all individuals affected by sarcoidosis. Our Collaborative is committed to a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach, building on the expertise of a broad range of medical subspecialists, educators, researchers, and social workers to promote exceptional and inclusive medical care, education, discovery, and social support.

Sarcoidosis is a highly complex medical condition because of its great variability in symptoms and severity from person to person. We believe that the input from all stakeholders - physicians, allied health professionals and most importantly patients, their caregivers and their families – is essential to developing tailored approaches to whole-person care. We aim to harness known and untapped resources to improve the health and well-being of all individuals impacted by this condition.

Leading sarcoidosis expert, Arthur Yee, MD discusses the disease.

Building Community: Providing Sarcoidosis Education and Support

Managing  a chronic condition can be challenging physically and emotionally. Learning about your condition, how to manage it and connecting with others with similar experiences can help. HSS has partnered with the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research, the leading international organization dedicated to finding a cure for sarcoidosis and improving care for sarcoidosis patients through research, education, and support. We facilitate community meetings for those affected by sarcoidosis in the New York City tri-state area with virtual events and resources.

Please reach out to Adena Batterman, MSW, LCSW for questions about the program and how to sign up.
