To facilitate the highest quality of care and create a supportive environment to ensure that all Limited English Proficiency (LEP), hearing and visually impaired patients as well as other patients with special requests and their families receive care in their preferred language.
We are dedicated to exceeding your communication needs. HSS provides free-of-charge skilled medical interpreters and communication assistance for all phases of your care. When you register for services you will be asked to provide us with your language of preference. We provide care for domestic and international patients as well as their families.
Copies of key medical forms in the above languages are available on the HSS website or upon request to members of the HSS healthcare team.
Assistive devices for Vision and Hearing impaired are also available on request Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm through the Language Assistance Services by dialing 212.606.1760 and during the off-hours or on weekends through the Nursing Administration by dialing 212.606.1231.
Language services are also available to assist applicants with financial aid.
