For more than two decades, HSS physicians and the New York Knicks medical staff have worked together diligently to provide players with direct access to world-class orthopedic care. Whether in the off-season or on center court at "the World’s Most Famous Arena," HSS physicians are an important part of the overall Knicks’ medical team, who oversee all medical decisions for players and ensure that they are being diagnosed and treated if an injury occurs.
HSS is also a proud supporter of the Jr. Knicks, which provides youth basketball athletes, coaches and community members with resources to further the game of basketball. The Jr. Knicks Coach of the Year Award presented by HSS is a celebration of coaches who embody values that make a positive impact on young basketball players, both on the court and in the community. Each year, the Knicks and HSS select five finalists who each win $2,000, with the winning Coach of the Year awarded $20,000. Content around the Jr. Knicks Coach of the Year Award is promoted across MSG Networks throughout the season.
HSS works with the Jr. Knicks year-round to support coaches in the tristate area in their development, to promote health and wellness and reduce athletes’ risk of injury. The tentpole event is the Jr. Knicks Coaches Convention presented by HSS. This weekend-long seminar has networking sessions and panels dedicated to improving the youth basketball landscape. Featured talent includes clinicians from HSS, Knicks alumni and staff, as well as highly regarded experts and industry influencers. To deepen the opportunities to benefit from these learning sessions, HSS and the Jr. Knicks launched the HSS Coaches Hub, a one-stop shop for free coaching resources.
