Development
As a top-ranked hospital, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, but it wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and passion of the people in our Development department. This team raises critically important funds that support patient care and research projects as well as education and community-oriented programs.
When you join HSS as part of our Development department, you’ll find a culture that’s both vibrant and supportive – and no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with all types of people from board trustees and council members, senior leadership and surgeons, to patients and volunteers. We run over 40 events per year from large-scale galas to smaller fundraising events, which enable us to be innovative and at the forefront of our field. You’ll become part of a future that’s sure to be as ground-breaking as our beginning – and that’s something to be passionate about.
As a Development Associate, you’ll play a key role in supporting front line fundraisers and Development Directors. From collaborating on outreach initiatives and managing events to prepping for donor meetings and keeping our databases up-to-date, there’s always a new skill to learn and a different project to get involved in. And you’ll be supported every step of the way. You’ll be joining a team that embodies partnership, because collaboration is part of our DNA.
Compelling words make all the difference in the world of fundraising. As a Development Writer yours will reach everyone, from executive leaders to the broad audience that reads our website, receives an invitation to an event or signs up for our newsletters. It’s a role where collaboration is just as important as persuasive copy. Here, you'll be working with major gift fundraisers and our own hospital leadership to win the hearts and minds of high-level donors.
From managing a portfolio of major gift prospects to building, facilitating and growing volunteer councils, our Major Gift Officers have a vital role to play. We’ll look to you to refine our fundraising strategies for the future and build strong relationships with physicians, patients and other key stakeholders. And our flat organization means you’ll have access to senior colleagues who will support you – which is important in a role where you’ll to establish credibility with everyone, up to the President and CEO. You’ll be given the tools and the trust you need to advance your career – and ultimately have a real impact on the people we care for.
